Let’s Pumpkin Spice it Up! Table Decor Ideas

Blog post

Fall is one of my favorite seasons and I am kinda sad that is almost over. I love the weather and the beautiful orange-brownish color palette that is characteristic of this season. Since my mom loves it too, I decided to throw her a fall inspired birthday dinner. The dinner turned out really well. Instead of cooking we got food from one of her favorite Italian restaurant and I put together a rustic tablescape for her special day that I want to share with you.

I’ve been obsessed with plaid blankets and scarfs, so I decided that’s what I wanted as a tablecloth. I got this white one with orange and gray details at HomeGoods and I bought this Burlap-Chalk table runner to give it a rustic and fun touch.

Let’s be honest there’s nothing that screams fall more than PUMPKINS! that’s why I decided to make the pumpkin the centerpiece of my table and work from there. I bought it three weeks ago at Trader Joe’s and I am surprised that is still in good shape. Since there’s no limit when it comes to adding pumpkins in a fall tablescape, I suggest adding as many as you want, in the colors and sizes that you prefer. In this case, I kept it simple by just adding these cute resin gold and white ones. And in case you are wondering, the piece of wood underneath the pumpkins is a wooden hand-carved window shutter that I found at an antique store.

Since I am obsessed with flowers I needed to somehow incorporate them into this table and these orange peonies couldn’t be more perfect. I truly believe that there’s nothing better than natural flowers. However, I felt that the color of these peonies would work with the rest of the elements.

I planned this dinner in advanced and when I was setting it up I realized I forgot to buy candles. I had no time to go buy them and the only thing that I could do was to work with what I had at home. I use gold napkin rings as candle holders and put tealights inside them. Candles are a most when creating a nice dining experience. So, If you ever run into the same problem as I did now you know that napkin rings and tealights are the answer to your problem haha!

I’ve always associate confetti with birthday parties and this mini-pumpkins and cinnamon sticks potpourri was too pretty not to add as “autumn confetti”. Don’t worry these are not highly scented and everyone at the table was able to eat comfortably.

I love the personalized touch of assigned seating. It makes all your guests feel welcome and they don’t have to get confused when looking for a place to sit, plus these burlap utensil pouches     give that rustic feel that I was going for.

There is nothing better than to surprise your family and friends with a beautiful table to make any dinner special. I hope this post has inspired you to create your own fall tablescape with minimum effort and with things that you already have at home.

Thanks for stopping by,
