Let’s Do This 2018! – How to Motivate Yourself

The new year has just started and some of us feel extremely motivated to achieve all of our goals and dreams. On the other hand, others feel nostalgic and also hopeless for what is yet to come. It is not a surprise that 2017 was kind to some and rough on others, and that sometimes is hard to get over that bitter taste left after rejections, disappointments, and struggles. If you are one of those people who is feeling down and unmotivated, I don’t judge you. I’ve been there, but after many unexpected blows, I’ve come to realized that many of the difficulties we have to endure are learning experiences and that comparison is the ultimate buzzkill. We overanalyzed and magnify our problems when we compare ourselves to others. We look up to those who are more successful and attractive, or those who show a picture-perfect life on social media. But the truth is that many of those people who we think are perfect are probably struggling with the same things that we are. So, the best thing we can do is chin up, count our blessings and embrace what life throws at us with open arms.

I know it is easier said than done. So, that’s why I am sharing with you one of the many things (besides praying, which it is my number one stress reliever) that make me feel extremely motivated and hopeful: Reading Quotes. I am all about motivational, inspirational and cheesy (sometimes) quotes. Every time I read a book or watch a movie I am very attentive to the dialogs and narrative. I write down as many quotes as I can and I’ve probably pinned more quotes than anything else on Pinterest haha. They inspire me to continue growing, loving and learning.
I’ve decided to write some of my favorite quotes on this post with the purpose of making you reflect on life and, feel motivated and ready to take on 2018 like a champ!
